KGYT faves Allstar have had a big year, they went on a cross-country tour, got signed by Disney’s Hollywood Records and they have just announced that they’ve changed their band name to Allstar Weekend! Here’s what the boys posted on their Myspace blog about the sudden name change:
Hi everybody!
Unfortunately due to legal issues with the rights to the name ALLSTAR we were forced to change our band name. But since we’ve made so many memories with all of you this past year as ALLSTAR we really wanted to keep ALLSTAR as part of our new name!
Of course it will be a little weird for all of you, and us, to adjust to the change. However, we really hope that you will understand that we are still the exact same band.
Our new band is ALLSTAR WEEKEND!
ALLSTAR, because that is our old band name, and WEEKEND, because weekends are fun!So please help us make this transition smooth and tell a friend about our new band name!

omg i saw u guys live today at the justin bieber concert i think the one thats named jefery jeremy something like that is hott like seriously and yeah ur band name is awsome but i cant finf u guys on youtube!!luv u guys 4 ever

i dont mind that u guys r called allstar weekend it suits u guys. Ya theres another band called allstar and they wrote the song smash mouth i use to bave it on my i pod. I love zach porter!!! I wish i could meet u guys but my parentswont buy me a ticket so im trying to save money for when u come to montreal. I also want to get back stage passes to meet and greet!!! Eep!! So ya u guys r the best band ever!! I love u guys so much i love ur music amzing !!! Hope u get a chanc to read it and Write me back!!
